About the MAP6 Photography Collective
The MAP6 photography collective was established in 2011 with the goal of supporting the making and dissemination of new bodies of work. Now comprising 9 members, our work is individually diverse, but unified in our deep curiosity for the complex relationship between people and place. MAP6 is committed to creating informative bodies of work around a central theme or geographical location. Each series eventually takes the form of a curated exhibition and group publication. The members of the collective are photographers from across the UK.
The Lithuanian Project
January 1st 2015 Lithuania, the last of the Baltic states, became the 19th country to join the Eurozone – with cash machines dispensing the newly designed notes at 30 minutes past midnight. Many of the country’s 3 million residents welcomed the move, believing themselves to be one step closer to being seen as “European”.
The Moscow Project
MAP6 travelled to Russia, to discover contemporary Moscow, documenting this inimitable city as it continues to wrestles with change.
The Home Project
Be it returning home or examining home, revisiting the historical power of home or the mythical relationships between memory and home, MAP6 explores the significance of Home.
